Responsible for marketing activities, technical application support, and service sales promotion leading to direct sales of continuous gas engine products in assigned territory.  The successful candidate will have a four year engineering degree and significant training and experience in gas engine application technology and sales.  Ideally this experience will have been acquired directly in sales and application of gas engine driven systems to such markets as landfill gas, bio/sewer gas, and combined heat and power. 

Duties:

Constantly seek out and call on customer and management representatives such as engineers, contractors, or other professional and technical personnel at commercial, industrial, and other establishments relative to assigned product and territory, and provides product information and proposals/quotes with a goal of securing orders for products or services offered.

Meet or exceed annual sales volume and profitability goals.

Reviews project plans and specifications, and other customer documents to develop and prepare cost estimates or product comparisons from client's use of proposed equipment or services. Ensures that all bid opportunities are followed up and finalized.

Prepare quotes and proposals for equipment, processes, or use of materials or services which meets customer requirements

Demonstrate capability to provide strong technical understanding and communication capability. Gives technical sales presentations, answers technical questions, and provides technical analysis for potential and existing projects. In collaboration with factory engineers, provides resolution to technical project issues and challenges. Provides technical information and product familiarization to employees of client.

Provides technical oversight to project teams, sales representatives, and other staff as needed. Maintains market intelligence on competition, advise Sales Manager of competition activity and assists in developing and implementing strategy and programs to increase revenue.  Performs technical comparisons, white papers, and other engineering related documentation.

Review on a timely basis and follow up on leads and prospects through developed through our plan services provider, referrals or any other direct customer contact.

Work closely with project engineers or Project Management staff to develop timely and competitive proposals.

Work with Managers to develop marketing and sales strategies and promotions.

Present a positive image of W. W. Williams and all the vendors we represent.

Perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Four year college or university degree in Engineering; and five to seven years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:  Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to perform rate, ratio, percent, and algebraic calculations and to compose and interpret bar graphs. Ability to apply all advanced electrical and mechanical engineering processes and formulas to practical applications.

TRAVEL: Extensive travel will be required throughout assigned territory within the southeast U.S., along with periodic travel to factory meetings, vendor and customer sites within and outside of the U.S.
