SUMMARY:  Sells power generation solutions through relationships with engineering companies, contractors and end-users of power generation equipment by determining their needs and matching solutions for these customers that promote the use of W. W. Williams' products and services by performing the following duties.

Duties:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following - other duties may be assigned.

Calls on customers' management representatives such as engineers, contractors or other professional and technical personnel at commercial, industrial, and other establishments relative to the assigned product and territory.

Prepares and provides product information and proposals/quotes that meet customers' requirements with a goal of securing orders for products or services offered.

Reviews project plans and specifications, and other customer documents to develop and prepare cost estimates or product comparisons from customer's use of proposed equipment or services. 

Ensures that all bid opportunities are followed up and finalized.

Provides technical information and product familiarization to customers' employees.

Promotes rental business (where applicable) by calling on end users in order to develop an aggressive rental program.

Maintains market intelligence on competition, advising Sales Manager of competitive activities.

Assists in the development and implementation of strategies and programs to increase sales and revenue.

Reviews and follows-up on leads and prospects developed through our plan services provider, referrals or other direct customer contact.

Works closely with inside Engineers and/or Project  Management staff to develop timely and competitive proposals.

Provides frequent feedback to the customer on the status of their projects.

Attends relevant industry trade shows and conferences to solicit new business.

Joins and participates in industry associations.

Completes all the necessary reporting via reports and/or CRM system to create records of all customer contacts, sales calls and opportunities.

Qualifications:

Education and/or Experience:   Four year college or university degree and five to seven years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Mathematical Skills:  Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to perform rate, ratio, percent and algebraic calculations.  Ability to compose and interpret bar graphs.

Language Skills:   Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.  Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Reasoning Ability:   Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.  Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook); and SalesLogix Contact Management System.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:  Driver's License in good standing.
